According a Press Trust of India report, an Indore-based body had filed a petition against Ajay Devgn for allegedly hurting religious sentiments of Hindus by showing scantily-clad women in one of the songs of Shivaay. We guess the petitioner might have taken offence to the title track or the 'Darkhaast' song.
While such petitions are common in India, it's likely to be the first time the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chief has been dragged into the muddle. The organisation took 'offence' over how the CBFC could clear the song. The petitioner sought persecution of Devgn and Nihalani under Section 295 A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings) of the Indian Penal Code.
Judicial magistrate Ashutosh Agarwal though dismissed the petition against Devgn and Nihalani.
Produced-directed and starring Devgn, Shivaay hits the screens tomorrow.
