The seasoned actor says that if Pakistan is a terrorist state he doesn’t want to be part of their films.

Rishi Kapoor told a news daily that he was offered a Pakistani film, but turned it down owing to the current political tension between the two countries in the aftermath of the Uri terror attack.
Explaining his reason for turning down the Pakistani film, Kapoor told Hindustan Times newspaper, "Recently, I was approached for a Pakistani film; it was the sequel to one of their biggest hits. I heard the story and found it interesting. Now, of course, it is not possible to act in it. The situation was ironic.”
The film in question is said to be the sequel to Nadeem Beyg's Jawani Phir Nahi Ani (2015).
The Kapoor & Sons actor said that he won't work in Pakistani films as his country wouldn’t like him to do so. "My country won’t like me to do it. And I am a proud Indian. If Pakistan is a terrorist state, I don’t want to be a part of them,” Kapoor said.
Kapoor has backed the Indian Army’s surgical strike in Pakistan and earlier called upon Pakistani actors to condemn the Uri attack if their country had no hand it.
It must be recalled that Kapoor had worked with Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in the Karan Johar produced Kapoor & Sons (2015).
While he backed the move to sever cultural ties between the two countries till the situation improved, Kapoor didn’t agree with the call to ban films which had Pakistani actors in it.
"Hope this is resolved as soon as possible. We cannot afford to escalate or do anything that is unbecoming; it could be fatal to both the countries,” he said.
After much controversy, Kapoor's son Ranbir’s film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil will finally release this week.
