Priyanka Chopra is currently busy shooting her international TV series, Quantico in New York. It seems her connection with the city won’t be ending with this season of the series. Ventilator, her debut Marathi film, as a producer, will be screened at the 55th New York International Film Festival next year in May.
The news was revealed by Dr Madhu Chopra, Priyanka’s mother, during a media interaction recently. She said, “We have received a letter from the film festival authorities to that effect though it is a little premature to talk about it. Priyanka wants to do full justice to it, which is why she is also looking at releasing it in international pockets.” Dr Madhu also happens to be the co-producer of Ventilator.
The film is directed by Rajesh Mapuskar, who made his Hindi film debut with Ferrari Ki Sawari. It stars Ashutosh Gowariker in the lead role. The filmmaker, known for films like Lagaan: Once Upon A Time In India and Swades: We The People, returns in front of the camera after 18 years.
Ventilator deals with the story of an aged person who is kept on a ventilator in hospital and how his illness gets his family and relatives unite after a long time. The film will be released on 4 November.
