Paresh Rawal slams Anurag Kashyap for questioning PM Modi

The actor turned politician says Kashyap’s statements have embarrassed the film industry.

Anurag Kashyap created a furore earlier this week when he questioned the wisdom of prime minister Narendra Modi’s unscheduled visit to Pakistan late last year, when, on the other hand, there are some who are bashing fellow filmmaker Karan Johar for casting Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in his film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Kashyap fuelled the controversy further when he published a private professional conversation with a journalist in public, including the journalist's name and phone number.

The Raman Raghav 2.0 director has since come in for flak from critics. Among those taking offence at Kashyap’s conduct is actor and Bharatiya Janata Party MP Paresh Rawal, who slammed Kashyap in his tweets.

Not only did Rawal condemn Kashyap for questioning the prime minister's action but also underlined that his statements are causing further damage to Karan Johar’s film and to the film industry in general. Already, a local political party in Mumbai has threatened to stall the release of Johar's film.
