Karan Johar's 'students' Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan send him thanks 

They say teachers never forget their students. For a change, it was the students remembering the teacher. Even as Karan Johar battled threats of vandalism and violence against Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan sent him adorable video messages thanking him for Student of the Year. 

Student of the Year (2013) proved to be the launch pad for Bhatt, Malhotra and Dhawan, who have gone on to become the stars of the new generation in Hindi cinema. Dhawan and Bhatt were the first to post a video on their Instagram feed. Currently shooting in Singapore for Badrinath Ki Dulhania, the two were gracious to thank Johar for his mentoring and for offering them a chance to stardom. If that wasn't enough, they ordered co-star Malhotra to post a video immediately in reply. 

Not to be left behind, Malhotra quickly took to his social media account and posted another video. 

Well, these wishes might come as some respite for Johar who has been caught in never ending controversy over the release of his film. Silver linings, we say.
