Yami Gautam newest addition to Ram Gopal Varma's Sarkar franchise

She made an impressive debut in Shoojit Sircar’s Vicky Donor (2012). After signing her first big project opposite Hrithik Roshan in Kaabil (2017), Yami Gautam has bagged yet another plum project as she is now on board for Sarkar 3.

“This is the first time I am working in a franchise, so it's very special. The audience will get to see me in a new avatar, and I am excited to begin shooting for the film,” Yami told TheTimes of India newspaper.

Yami joins a list of top actresses like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Katrina Kaif who have been part of the Sarkar franchise. While the first part in 2005 was a box-office success, the second film, Sarkar Raj (2008), was a disappointment.

Rai Bachchan will not be part of the third film, leading to speculation that Yami may essay the role played by her in the earlier parts.
