Raj Thackeray's gesture comes at a time when his party is strongly opposing the release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which stars Bachchan's daughter-in-law.

Veteran superstar Amitabh Bachchan celebrated his 74th birthday on 11 October 2016. As is the case every year, he received plenty of gifts from his numerous well-wishers and fans on his special day. But he was in for a pleasant surprise on Friday, 14 October when a special gift was delivered to his doorstep.
Raj Thackeray, the chief of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, sent a self-made portrait to Bachchan as a belated birthday gift. It was delivered by Raj’s son Amit Thackeray at Bachchan’s bungalow, Jalsa. The superstar was obviously pleased and touched by the gesture. Amit, who is a die-hard fan of the actor, spent two hours with him.
But the goodwill incident didn’t end at this. It was Amit’s turn to be pleasantly surprised the next day when Bachchan sent his green watch to him as a return gift. The youngster is over the moon ever since he received it. According to reports, he had mentioned about the watch to Bachchan during their interaction. The actor is famous for gifting watches to his near and dear ones.
But amid such pleasant scenes, MNS’ protest against Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil continues since the film stars Pakistani actor Fawad Khan. The party has vowed to stall the release of the film in consequence to the Uri attacks in Jammu and Kashmir last month.
Interestingly, the film stars Bachchan’s daughter-in-law, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in a pivotal role. Due to this reason, the goodwill gesture between the Bachchans and Thackerays has come as a surprise to many. Let’s see whether this will help in cooling down MNS’ firm stand against the film starring the Bachchan bahu.
