Kirron Kher's father Thakur Singh passes away

Actress-politician Kirron Kher's father, Thakur Singh, passed away on Tuesday morning. He was 102 years old.

The actress's husband, Anupam Kher, shared the news on Twitter, saying, 'Col Thakur Singh, Kirronji’s father, departed for a better world this morning. He was one of the kindest persons I have ever met. Will miss him.' 

Kher's family hails from Chandigarh. She was elected a member of Parliament from the city on the ruling BJP's ticket in the 2014 general election.

Since then, the National award-winning actress has been balancing her time between working in films and nursing her constituency.

The actress was last seen in the Sonam Kapoor-Fawad Khan starrer Khoobsurat (2014). 

Col Singh's cremation is scheduled to take place tomorrow afternoon.
