Apart from wowing us with her acting skills, both in India and abroad, Priyanka Chopra has also impressed audiences with her singing. She does it one more time with the song ‘Baba’ from her Marathi production, Ventilator.
The Quantico star has already sung in four languages – English, Hindi, Punjabi and Tamil. With this song, she becomes the first actress to sing in five languages.
‘Baba’ is a soulful number with emotional lyrics about a child’s appeal to her father, who is battling for survival, to stay. While it is touching for everyone, you might relate to it more if you have seen an elder in such a condition before.
Chopra has once again impressed with her singing skills. She has added the emotional touch in her rendition, which was so vital here. She has worked hard on her Marathi pronunciation and gets most of it right.
During a recent interaction, the Bajirao Mastani (2015) actress said that the song was close to her at a personal level as it brought back memories of her father, the late Dr Ashok Chopra.
The makers have added visuals from the film to the video, which adds greater intensity to the song. The conflict between quite a few characters from the movie is also put forth by just using the visuals.
Directed by Rajesh Mapuskar, Ventilator stars Ashutosh Gowariker, Jitendra Joshi and a long line-up of actors. The film is set to be released on 4 November.
