Filmmaker SS Rajamouli captured the attention of the entire country with his blockbuster film Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia. When the film ended, the question on everyone’s lips was, why did Katappa killed Baahubali?
That information is restricted to a privileged few. Only Rajamouli’s unit knows the answer to that question. Now Union minister of state for Information and broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore has joined the club that knows the tantalizing secret.
Rathore attended the closing ceremony of the 47th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) with chief guest Rajamouli. “Thank you so much for making this brilliant film for us. And thank you for telling me why Katappa killed Baahubali," Rathore said at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium, sending shivers of excitement through the audience.
He proceeded to reassure the crowd that he wouldn’t ruin the surprise for them. "It shouldn't be a surprise. He told me why Katappa killed Baahubali, because this government knows everything and he also knows this government keeps the best secrets. So it's safe,” he remarked, in a cheeky reference to the demonetization order of the prime minister earlier this month that took the whole country by surprise.
For the rest of us, we will have to wait until 28 April 2017 to solve the mystery.
