If there is one thing about Irrfan Khan that touches you the most, it has to be his humility. The actor never boasts of his achievements, nor does he forget his roots.
An alumnus of the National School of Drama, Delhi, Khan returned to his alma mater when he was invited as a special guest for the Jashne Bachpan International Children's Festival.
Khan has always batted for the growth of theatre and it is his love for the stage that brought him back to the NSD.
“Childhood is a celebration. And childhood becomes a celebration only when a child does things after figuring out his own interest," Khan told the packed house. "As children, when we used to go to school to study, we never really liked it. So I want to tell kids today to discover your interest and enjoy that.”
Other guests at the event included Kumar Sanjay Krishna, additional secretary and financial adviser, ministry of culture, government of India, and Professor Waman Kendre, director of the NSD. Children in the age group of 5-15 years were at the event in large numbers.
