Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora have filed for divorce, and the grapevine suggests that the rift between the couple, who were married for nearly two decades, was caused by the presence of a third person, Arjun Kapoor, who has often been seen visiting Arora’s residence.
Arbaaz Khan’s friendship with Goa-based restaurateur Yellow Mehra, too, has been in the news, but the gossip mongers have been talking more about Arora’s friendship with the younger Arjun Kapoor.
Arora, who has always kept her personal life under wraps, has finally commented on the rumours. Rubbishing all talk of an affair with Kapoor, she told a daily, “Arjun is a very good friend of mine. But people give a very different meaning to it, which isn’t true.”
It may be recalled that earlier this year, Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora had issued a joint statement denying the presence of a third person in their relationship.
“We are not separated because of a third random person, like there were stories of a friendship between a businessman and Malaika. Nor was it about his family disapproving of her lifestyle, nor does she feel that her husband is not financially stable. She is not crying on her brother-in-law Salman’s shoulders, asking him to help. They are our family, so please don’t talk about them like that,” the couple had said in a statement.
Khan and Arora were married for 18 years before announcing their separation in March this year. They have a son Arhaan.
