Ranveer Singh apologizes for sexist billboard ad

Mayur Lookhar

We had reported yesterday that a popular clothing brand had apologized and taken down a controversial hoarding featuring Ranveer Singh.

The hoarding was deemed sexist by many, including Southern star Siddharth, who posted a tweet asking whether this sexist ad was a new low for women’s rights at the workplace.

Taking cognizance of the offensive nature of the ad, the Padmavati actor has issued an apology. “I'm sorry this happened. We got it wrong on billboards. Rectified mistake, ad withdrawn,“ Singh told the Times Now news channel.

The advertisement featured Singh carrying a miniskirted woman on his shoulder with the legend: Don’t hold back. Take your work home.

The actor will be seen with Vaani Kapoor in Aditya Chopra's Befikre next month.
