Few actors have had the honour of having a movie named after them. Some prominent titles from these are Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon! (2003), Shahrukh Bola "Khoobsurat Hai Tu" ... And She Believed In It (2010), Shahrukh Khan Ki Maut (Pakistani film, 2005) and Ravi Kisan (Bhojpuri, 2008).
Now, we can add Hrithik Roshan in this rare list. A Malayalam movie titled Kattappanayile Hrithik Roshan hit southern screens on 18 November. The title translates to – Kattappana’s (a village name) Hrithik Roshan. The film has been garnering good collections at the box-office.
The Malayalam film stars Vishnu Unnikrishnan in the lead. He plays a struggling actor who wants to make it big like his idol, Hrithik Roshan. His father wanted to be a movie star but couldn’t be one. Hence, he is eager to see his son climb the ladder of stardom.
The real Hrithik wasn’t aware about the film until after the film released. And that too he came to know after his Twtitter followers started talking about it. In an interview to a daily, Hrithik expressed his happiness to see a film being made on his name.
“I am honoured. I wasn’t aware of this movie till a lot of people on my Twitter timeline started talking about it. I am curious and intrigued. I am being told that it’s done well, so would like to congratulate the makers,” said Hrithik.
