The feature film based on the life of star son and actor, Sanjay Dutt, is turning out to be quite interesting. Dutt has given permission to his Munna Bhai MBBS director, Rajkumar Hirani, to make the film on him. As the as-yet untitled feature has another star son, Ranbir Kapoor, stepping up to play Dutt.
News reports suggest that besides Ranbir, actresses Sonam Kapoor and Anushka Sharma will also be joining the project. Sonam will be part of the film as a special appearance, playing the part of Hindi film actress who acted alongside Dutt.
Sonam and Ranbir made their Hindi film debuts together with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's lavish Saawariya which opened opposite Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om in Diwali 2017. Om Shanti Om emerged as the winner of that battle, but Sonam and Ranbir have gone on to make their mark in the industry, despite the failure of their first film.

Ranbir will also work with Sharma, his Ae Dil Hai Mushkil co-star. Despite a few hurdles to its release, the film directed by Karan Johar has joined the 100 crore club and provided some relief to the actor who was looking for a hit after Bombay Velvet (2015). Sharma will play a journalist in the biopic.
No release date has been set for Hirani's film.
