Irrfan Khan was last seen in the recently-released Hollywood film, Inferno. His last appearance in Hindi was Nishikant Kamat’s Madaari. Although the film didn’t quite set the cash registers ringing, his performance received a big thumbs up. The film tackled the grave issue of corruption among the political class.

Now, his upcoming flick, Hindi Medium too is based on a social issue, although not a hard-hitting one. The film is a story of a couple staying in Delhi’s Chandni Chowk locality. The two of them are eager to move into Delhi’s higher strata of society. The release date of the film is just announced officially. It will hit the screens on 31 March 2017.

A source close to the film has revealed that Pakistani actress Saba Qamar is making her debut with this film.

Saket Chaudhary will take up the responsibility of being the director. He debuted with the highly appreciated Pyaar Ke Side Effects (2006). He followed it up with its sequel, Shaadi Ke Side Effects (2014).
