Kahaani 2: Vidya takes break from thrills in ‘Aaur Main Khush Hoon’

Director Sujoy Ghosh’s Kahaani 2 – Durga Rani Singh is a thriller, just like the first film in the franchise, Kahaani (2012). The trailers of the film have made it clear that this will be one intense ride. But the song ‘Aaur Main Khush Hoon’ comes across as a surprise as it is a light-hearted and soft number. 

The song mostly shows the everyday life of Vidya Balan and her child. Apart from portraying the sweet relationship between them, it shows the true meaning of enjoying the little joys of life. Well-known Bengali actor Tota Roy Chowdhury is seen giving Vidya company. The beautiful locales of India’s Northeast are pleasing to the eye, as always.

In a way, it is surprising to see a male voice narrating the state of mind of a female character. But there are no complaints as Ash Singh has done complete justice to Amitabh Bhattacharya’s simple and sweet lyrics. 

But in a rarity, the song also showcases the everyday life of the supporting character of the police inspector, who is played by Arjun Rampal. We are also shown the character of his wife for the first time. 

Kahaani 2 – Durga Rani Singh is all set to be released on 2 December.
