Ajay Devgn, son of action director Veeru Devgan, burst on to the scene in 1991 with his debut film Phool Aur Kaante. His introduction in the film, riding two motorcycles at once, was one for the ages. The shot was helmed by his father without any special effects. His performance in the film earned him the Filmfare award for Best Male Debut.
Since then, Ajay Devgn has gone on to become an acclaimed actor with two National awards to his name. He also launched his own banner to produce his own films. But 25 years on, he retains top billing as an action star with films like Singham (2011) and his latest, Shivaay (2016).
The leading man with unconventional looks has amassed quite a fan following since that November day in 1991. His home production, Shivaay (2016), which he also directed, impressed many with its daring action sequences, though the film failed to set the box office alight.
