Priyanka Chopra has been making headlines continuously this year, thanks to her fine act in Bajirao Mastani and, more so, for playing the lead in the international TV series, Quantico. She also managed to grab her first Hollywood project, Baywatch, which is due to release next year.
In between all this, she has also found time to become a film producer and a successful one at that. Her Bhojpuri film, Bam Bam Bol Raha Hai Kashi, which released earlier this year, was followed with her maiden Marathi venture, Ventilator this month.
Chopra's next is a Punjabi film, Sarvann. The movie is all set to make heads turn much before it releases. This is because it will have some contribution from none other than the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau. Confused? Well, in a first-of-its-kind for any film, a PM would be launching the first poster and trailer of the film in Toronto tomorrow (20 November).
Speaking about the decision, Deepshikha Deshmukh, the co-producer of the film, told a publication, “It will certainly give a boost to the film. The reason we chose to launch the film in Toronto is because the story is about an NRI boy who returns to India to explore his roots. Fashioned as a thriller, it essentially is a coming-of-age story of a young boy who unknowingly discovers his identity.”
Sarvann is directed by Karan Guiliani and it stars Amrinder Gill, Ranjit Bawa and Simi Chehail.
