Boney Kapoor says daughter Jhanvi will debut in a Karan Johar production

Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s eldest daughter will reportedly make her big screen debut with Dharma Productions.

Jhanvi Kapoor will follow her cousins, Sonam and Harshvardhan, along with half-brother Arjun, to the big screen. According to her father Boney, Jhanvi is set to star in a Karan Johar production for her first film.

Boney spoke to DNA newspaper and confirmed that he and Sridevi had been talking to Johar about Jhanvi joining films. “Yes, Karan has been talking to us about a film for Jhanvi and we've given consent. But we don't know which project it would be. Since Karan has recently acquired the remake rights of Sairat it is being presumed that our daughter would be launched in this project."

Johar, who is currently enjoying the success of his latest directorial venture, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, and preparing to release the next home production, Dear Zindagi, hasn’t yet commented on this development or about acquiring the rights for Nagraj Manjule’s blockbuster Marathi film, Sairat (2016).

Johar launched filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter Alia to stardom in his previous film, Student of the Year (2012) and Jhanvi’s parents, Boney and Sridevi, must be hoping Johar's Midas touch will rub off their daughter as well.

We expect a big announcement from Dharma Productions soon!
