Actor Ranveer Singh's funky outlook and personality has been one of his USPs since his debut. However, the actor maintains that he is every bit the traditionalist when it comes to relationships. Speaking at the launch of Befikre's music, he said, "There is a generational shift on the perception and outlook of romantic relationship. This film represents the mind of today's generation. Personally, I am a bit traditional when it comes to relationships."
The music launch of Befikre also saw the actor say that he was the first choice for Aditya Chopra right from the beginning of the film. In quite a carefree mood, the actor said that he was not entering 'Shah Rukh Khan' territory, in spite of media rumours. Chopra's return to direction, Befikre, is the first film without Khan. The superstar has been one of Chopra's preferred choices since his first, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge. Speaking about Khan, Singh said, "I am the least territorial person; I don't think I am entering anyone's territory. Adi sir wanted to make the film with me and I am involved in the project from its scripting. I am glad that my mentor has given me the opportunity to work under his direction. It's a big deal for me."
Incidentally, Singh has followed the footsteps of Khan in working with two reclusive directors in Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Chopra. He said, "I am so proud and happy. I think I am lucky to get such an opportunity. Though I want to work with big names of Bollywood, I also want to work with young directors and fresh ideas."
The actor is also stepping into another film with Bhansali, Padmavati, alongside Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor.
Befikre has been grabbing headlines for its steamy scenes and numerous kisses. Singh added that the kiss has been projected in the film as a 'warm hug' and is 'perfect for family viewing'. Incidentally, the film has received its censor certificate in U/A, but the kisses in the film have been retained.
Befikre also stars Vaani Kapoor and releases on 9 December.
