KJo's masterstroke: Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor to appear together on Koffee with Karan 

Karan Johar knows a thing or two about pulling off casting coups. After managing to cast Aishwarya Rai Bachchan opposite Ranbir Kapoor successfully in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, the director has managed to pull off another masterstroke. Reports suggest that fifth season of his chat show, Koffee with Karan, will see Ranbir Kapoor partner Ranveer Singh on an episode. 

Both actors have quite the fan following, but have never appeared on screen together. The two actors share a lot of commonalities in their careers, the least of which is their equation with actress Deepika Padukone. 

Both Kapoor and Singh have appeared once each on the previous seasons of the show, but to have them sitting together would be quite the experience for viewers and fans. 

A leading daily quoted a source as saying, "It will be one epic episode and Karan will make sure that it would be a fun watch." 

The new season of Johar's popular chat show has seen several unlikely couples beginning with Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt in the opening episode. Kareena Kapoor Khan-Sonam Kapoor, Farah Khan-Sania Mirza, Akshay Kumar-Twinkle Khanna will all be making appearances in future episodes. However, all these couples have had either movies or real-life friendships as common grounds to their appearance. For Kapoor and Singh to make an appearance seems like a bolt out of the blue. The actors rarely make public appearances together, although they share a fairly easy-going equation with each other. The last time the two partied together, they set the social media on fire. 

Quite obviously, Deepika Padukone might be a central figure in the questions the two might face. Kapoor once dated Padukone, while Singh is her current beau. In many ways, it is similar to the last time Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor made an appearance on Johar's show together. The episode caused the TRPs of the show to skyrocket. 

To be true, this remains one of the gutsiest moves by Karan Johar. Knowing Ranveer Singh's devil may care attitude, this might be one heck of an episode.
