The Hindi film industry and film journalists' fraternity were saddened today by the death of trade analyst and producer Vikas Mohan who was admitted to a Mumbai hospital yesterday after suffering a heart attack.
Vikas Mohan ran a popular film trade magazine and was one of the better known analysts. He also produced the film Aarzoo (1999) starring Madhuri Dixit and Akshay Kumar.
Film personalities Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Karan Johar, Madhur Bhandarkar, Anupam Kher, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Genelia D’Souza and others condoled the passing of Vikas Mohan.
Speaking to Cinestaan.com, trade analyst and filmmaker Amar Solanki, a close friend of Mohan, said, “I knew him for 30 years. I worked for his magazine for four years. He always spoke his heart. Above all, he was a good human being.”
Solanki also said Vikas Mohan's box-office predictions were usually accurate.
