Riteish Deshmukh seems to be enjoying his return to the screen in his next film, Banjo. Directed by Marathi filmmaker Ravi Jadhav, the film will see Deshmukh play the role of a street musician. The film is set to release on 23 September.
The motion poster for the film came out on Friday 27 May. It featured Riteish Deshmukh sporting long hair and leaping off the stage. The actor is trying out a very different look for his role as a passionate street musician in the film. Deshmukh's character is also shown to be a Maharashtrian, another first for the actor, who took to Twitter to tweet a poster yesterday.

Meanwhile, director Ravi Jadhav took to Facebook to talk about how the film came into being. In a post on his Facebook page, Jadhav said the story was born when he spotted street musicians performing in Solapur, during the promotions for the Marathi film, Natrang. It inspired him to make a film on the forgotten members of Marathi film music.
Banjo will star Nargis Fakhri as a DJ opposite Riteish Deshmukh.
