The trailer of Jimmy Shergill's new film Shorgul has been released. A powerful political drama, the film is based on several real-life events that have shaken India's political scene in the recent years. The film is set to release on 24 June this year.
The motion poster for the film was released earlier this week on 24 May.
In the trailer, Jimmy plays a conniving politician pitting his wits against the fearsome clout of Ashutosh Rana. Both actors pack a punch with their presence and dialogues. The storyline is based on the conflicts of inter-religious love. Hiten Tejwani, Eijaz Khan and Sanjay Suri will also be playing major roles in the film, directed by Jitendra Tiwari and P. Singh. Interestingly, the credits list former Union minister for Environment, Kapil Sibal, as the lyricist.
Going by Jimmy's track record with political films, Shorgul is a film to watch out for. The actor has previously worked in dramas like Haasil (2003), Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster (2011) and Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster Returns (2013), which won him praise and made quite an impact at the box office.
