Not only Salman Khan fans but almost every Hindi film fanatic is keenly looking forward to the release of the first trailer of the actor’s upcoming flick, Sultan. The promo will be out today amidst much fanfare at Mumbai’s iconic Filmcity studios.

Needless to say, a Salman movie brings with it a lot of expectations and Sultan is no exception. But in the case of this Ali Abbas Zafar directed film, the expectations are even higher after some impressive first look posters and an exciting teaser, which shows a bare-bodied Sallu thrashing his opponent in a game of wrestling. Anushka Sharma, who plays a wrestler too, has also managed to impress with her act in the posters.

So, what exactly can one expect from Sultan’s trailer? Well, going by the promotional material so far, it seems that the film isn’t just a regular masala entertainer. It has emotional elements and is driven by a dramatic plot.

Apart from the posters and teaser, the biggest indication of the same comes from the tagline which reads, “Wrestling is not a sport. It’s about fighting what lies within.” Fighting something that lies within surely stems from an intense purpose.

But Sultan isn’t the first Salman film in recent times to move away from the typical commercial genre. The actor’s last two films – Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo – too walked the emotional path. While the former gave a lesson on humanity in a heartwarming manner, the latter presented family values.

And Salman seems to be keeping this trend alive with his future films too. His next films are with Kabir Khan and Sooraj Barjatya (both untitled as of yet), it is obvious to expect an emotional angle in them.

But for now, let’s gear up for Sultan to hit theatres this Eid on July 6.
