Deepika Padukone has been very choosy when it comes to performing 'item' numbers, as the special one-off song-and-dance sequences in films are called, in movies that do not star her. The Piku actress had done only one the title song of Rohan Sippy’s Dum Maaro Dum back in 2011.

But it seems Padukone is ready once again to set the screen on fire with her dance moves. According to reports, she will be shaking a leg in a song appearance in Dinesh Vijan’s Raabta, which stars Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon. The film is Vijan’s directorial debut.

The reports also suggested that Vijan got Deepika Padukone on board since he considers her a lucky mascot. The Bajirao Mastani (2015) actress worked in three films produced by Vijan – Love Aaj Kal (2009), Cocktail (2012), Finding Fanny (2014) – and all turned out to be successes.

Though there are not many details available about the song, it has been reported that it will be composed by Pritam and Deepika Padukone will be heading to Budapest on June 1 to shoot it.

Since Padukone has been very choosy when it comes to doing item numbers, the song in question is expected to be special. But we will have to wait till the end of the year to get a glimpse as the film releases in February 2017.
