Young turks all round, a low budget, and a clear field at the box office. The stage was set for Baaghi: A Rebel For Love and the film did not disappoint. The Tiger Shroff-Shraddha Kapoor starrer enjoyed a fine run in its opening weekend bagging a net of Rs38 crore. The film was released on 2,750 screens across India.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted: #Baaghi ROARS. Biz SOARS... Has a ROCKING Sun... Fri 11.94 cr, Sat 11.13 cr, Sun 15.51 cr. Total: ₹ 38.58 cr. India biz.

Box-officeindia.com pegged the opening weekend figures at Rs38.25 crore. The action drama, which released on April 29, bagged an impressive Rs11.75 crore on its opening day, as per box-officeindia.com. There was a slight dip on Saturday with the film bagging Rs11 crore, but Sunday saw a near 40 per cent growth as Baaghi garnered a cool Rs15.50 crore.

According to Taran Adarsh, Baaghi has jumped to number three in terms of biggest opening weekend for 2016. The top two films are Fan (Rs52.35 crore) and Airlift (Rs44.3 crore).

Shah Rukh Khan’s Fan, however, fizzled out after the opening weekend with mixed reactions from critics and fans alike. Airlift powered on to become the year's first Hindi blockbuster with over Rs200 crore worldwide.

Meanwhile, the opening weekend collection of Baaghi has crossed that of Tiger Shroff’s debut film Heropanti, which was Rs27 crore, an indication of the young actor's growing clout at the box office. Tiger Shroff, son of the veteran actor Jackie Shroff, will be seen next as a superhero in A Flying Jatt.
