The mystery over Sidharth Malhotra's secret date with a mystery girl has all but fizzled out after the actor's rumoured girlfriend defended him strongly.

Speaking to a daily, Bhatt said that she casually asked Malhotra about the rumoured mystery date, which he vehemently denied. Describing Malhotra as a close friend, Bhatt stressed that there was no reason for her to fight with her Student of the Year costar. 

“He has been working non-stop. I’ve known him for the longest time now. We started off together, and of late, we have been spending a lot of time together. I have developed a huge fondness for him, and he’ll always be an important part of my life”, added the actor.

Malhotra recently courted controversy over his mystery date. Gossip mongers even specualted that actor took his mystery date to his apartment. Tales of rift between Bhatt and Malhotra have been doing the rounds for several weeks. If not the mystery date,  Malhotra was even rumoured to be the new man in Katrina Kaif's life. Kaif, who has recently broken up with Ranbir Kapoor, had lashed out at reports linking her with her Baar Baar Dekho costar.

Well, now that Bhatt has uncovered the truth from Malhotra, we can put this piece of gossip under the carpet. The duo are tipped to feature in Aashiqui 3.
