Here is how Hindi film celebrities extended support to Udta Punjab through Twitter
Keyur Seta
The tussle between Udta Punjab and the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) refuses to die down. The suggestion of the revising committee of removing the word ‘Punjab’ from the film and other 89 cuts has more than raised eyebrows.
A number of prominent people from the film industry have tweeted in support of the film while slamming Pankaj Nihalani, CBFC Chief, who had denied certification for the film. These include Karan Johar, Farhan Akhtar, Rishi Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Kapil Sharma, cricketer Harbhajan Singh and television host Kapil Sharma among others.
Surprisingly, some of the biggest names of the industry did not openly come out in support of the film. Questions are being raised on the silence of prominent Twitterati like Anupam Kher, who never shies away on speaking on important issues.
Think. Jo naam badalne chaiyen,un par amal naheen kar rahen hain! Koi "Udta" hua cheez badalna chahte hain. "Punjab" expose ho jayega na lol

When you tear out a man's tongue, you are not proving him a liar, you're only telling the world that you fear what he might say. #UdtaPunjab

Power is the most dangerous addiction of all & someone in the CBFC seems to be tripping hard on Lassi in the Sky with Diamonds. #UdtaPunjab

#UdtaPunjab speaks of the reality of our times....censoring reality amounts to delusion.....the fraternity has to stand by what's right!!
— Karan Johar (@karanjohar) June 6, 2016
U know a lot of people in our fraternity speak up for other causes, it's time we stood up for our own. #UdtaPunjab deserves a proper release
