Hrithik Roshan's heroic avatar in Mohenjo Daro revealed: First look

Hrithik Roshan has flexed his muscles as a superhero in the Krrish series, looked smoking hot as a villain in Dhoom 2, played a king in Jodha Akbar and shown off his action chops in Bang Bang. Now, in his next big budget release, Mohenjo Daro, the star raises the bar by playing an ancient heroic character named Sarman.

Along with the motion poster of Mohenjo Daro, the makers of the film, also released the first look poster featuring Hrithik. The actor is seen in rugged clothes, short hair, some fuzz on his face and a trishul-like weapon in his hand. The generally clean-shaven Hrithik also lets his chest hair be this time around (obviously its in keeping with the era!) Hrithik plays the role of a man, who falls in love with the daughter of an enemy, who is a dancer, played by Pooja Hegde.

While the premise doesn't sound very different at the outset, we hear that director Ashutosh Gowariker, who took three years to develop the film, does have some surprises up his sleeve as he explores the prevalent culture in the ancient Indus Valley Civilization.

Produced by UTV Motion Pictures, Mohenjo Daro releases in theatres 12 August 2016.
