The National award-winning actress has a thing to say to those who troll her for her fashion sense.

Ever since she made her debut in 2005 in Parineeta, the beautiful Vidya Balan has always been in the good books of those who admire quality performances. Despite some of her films failing at the box office, her image as a good artiste has never taken a beating.

However, there is one area in which Vidya has always faced criticism and, at times, been the subject of jokes – her fashion sense and clothing. Recently, when it was pointed out to her that many fashion magazines and blogs take digs at her, she was amused.

“Do they still say things about me?” she laughed. Then, after a pause, she said: “As long as you are happy with what you see in the mirror, duniya gayi tel lene [the rest can go to hell]. Sometimes when I see these fashion industry people wearing the kind of clothes, I wonder like, kya hai yeh? We have seen beggars in tatters [laughs]. People walk on the ramp wearing anything.”

But Vidya was quick to add, “I think it’s a difference of perspective. They will say, oh she doesn’t know anything about fashion. But this is how I feel.”

The Kahaani (2012) actress was speaking at a media interaction for her upcoming thriller, Te3n, which co-stars Amitabh Bachchan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The film will see the light of day on 10 June 2016.
