There's something about films based on true stories which always evokes, if not great expectations, then great buzz around them. Having fired a clear shot with the unveiling of the poster, Akhay Kumar has now fired a thunderous shot with the launch of Rustom trailer. The actor took to twitter to launch the trailer.
Patriot, traitor, or murderer? Kumar posed the big question to netizens? What immediately strikes about Rustom tralier is that as opposed to the earlier films based on the KM Nanavati case, Yeh Rastey Hai Pyar Ke (1963) and Achanak (1973), Rustom will not merely cover the court room action, but bring into focus all the off the court drama that surrounded this case. Also there is curiosity around Esha Gupta's character who seems hell bent on ensuring that her brother's killer Rustom goes to jail. Ileana D'Cruz plays Rustom's wife. Arjan Bajwa's character plays the alleged lover of Rustom's wife.
The KM Nanavati case drew widespread attention from the media, public, especially the Parsi community. Director Tinu Suresh Desai seems to have given great attention to detail to this aspect. "Kuch to hai jo pakad mein nahi aa raha hai," says Pawan Malhotra's character. That is enough to suggest that there is much more to it than meets the eye.
From the look of it, Rustom trailer appears to have taken a giant march over Mohenjo Daro's trailer, which received mixed response. Akshay Kumar's Rustom and Hrithik Roshan's Mohenjo Daro both release on 12 August .
For now, we our readers can catch the Rustom trailer.
