Nawazuddin Siddiqui might have stolen the thunder with his dastardly act in Raman Raghav 2.0, but the film's other lead, Vicky Kaushal, can hold his head high. In Anurag Kashyap's latest dark saga, the actor plays a troubled police officer on the hunt of a serial killer.
In a recently released 'deleted scene' from the film, Kaushal's character goes through a confession that sheds light on the dark origins of his own childhood. The video was released by the film's producers, Phantom Productions.
In the scene, titled Raghav's confession, Kaushal's character goes into detail, describing the physical abuse he suffers at the hands of his father, and his own revenge that follows. This would have offered more bite to the violent and obsessive cop that his character eventually becomes in the film. Though the film explored the disturbed childhood of Nawaz's serial killer, it didn't provide enough insight into Kaushal's character. This scene could add some depth to his background.

The scene also provides evidence to why Vicky Kaushal is being touted as the next big thing after Irrfan Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui to hit Hindi cinema. The intensity bordering on violent explosion that he brings to the scene is exhilirating.
Why anyone would delete the scene remains a mystery. At least, the audience now has a chance to look at what they missed out on.
