Buzz is that a late-night meeting at Devgn's residence saw the actor give his nod for the fourth instalment of the comedy franchise.

Back in 2014, Ajay Devgn, disappointed by the flop show that was Action Jackson, was quoted as saying that henceforth he would not sign any film blindly, no matter who the director. The rumour then was that Devgn was not keen anymore on mindless masala entertainers. However, new reports suggest that the actor will return to the Golmaal comedy franchise.
After the Action Jackson debacle, it was believed that Devgn was keen to begin work on the proposed remake of the Anil Kapoor-Jackie Shroff hit Ram Lakhan (1989), but Rohit Shetty, who was supposed to helm the project, began shooting for the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Dilwale (2015) instead. Devgn then got busy with his home production Shivaay, which is scheduled to release in October this year.
With Dilwale, there was also talk about the distance having grown between Shetty and old favourite Devgn, because this was the second Shetty project with Shah Rukh Khan.
However, according to a report in DNA newspaper today, Shetty met Devgn recently at his Juhu residence and thrashed out their differences. Shetty also narrated the Golmaal 4 script, which hours later was approved by the actor. Devgn had played the lead in all three previous Golmaal films. Shooting for Golmaal 4 is expected to begin by the year-end.
