Kriti controversy: Shirish Kunder rubbishes allegations; Nepali filmmaker mocks him

The war of words between Shirish Kunder and Aneel Neupane continues...

Shirish Kunder received high accolades a couple of days ago for his short film, Kriti, which is a psychological thriller. But yesterday, netizens were in for a shock after a Nepali filmmaker, Aneel Neupane accused Kunder of stealing the idea for Kriti from his short film, BOB through a long Facebook post.

However, the Jaan-e-Mann filmmaker has now rubbished all claims of plagiarism through a couple of tweets. In his Facebook post, Neupane has claimed that BOB had released on 12 May 2016. But Kunder has revealed that they reportedly shot Kriti in February 2016.

Neupane had also mentioned that he had shared the video privately with his close friends in October 2015. To this, the Kriti maker pointed out that he couldn’t have seen the private video since he is not a friend of the Nepali filmmaker.

But in a latest development, while expressing happiness for a surge in views for BOB, Neupane has taken a dig Kunder on his Facebook page in a post that reads, “Woke up to find over 25k views and a lot of constructive feedback as well as support in the comments. Thank you Mr. Kunder.”

Kriti is a psychological thriller starring Manoj Bajpayee, Radhika Apte, Neha Sharma and Manu Rishi Chadha.
