Chitrangada Singh has been replaced by Richa Chadda in the Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer Babumoshai Bandookbaaz. However, the bigger story is how Siddiqui lent his support to his director who was accused of indecent conduct by Singh while filming an intimate scene.
Rubbishing Chitrangada Singh's claim, Siddiqui reportedly said, "We did a normal scene. There was nothing unacceptable about what we shot. The incident being mentioned did not happen. Kushan is a decent, soft-spoken person. He's a gentleman, incapable of crass behaviour."
Siddiqui's backing will warm the heart of his director Kushan Nandy, who reportedly has decided to sue Singh.
Nandy was quoted as saying, "Those who know me will know I never use filthy words like she has accused me of using. I don't know people who use language like that. This is character assassination."
Attempts to reach Chitrangada Singh failed. A few weeks ago, Singh had stirred a hornet’s nest by claiming that Nandy caused her great embarrassment by asking her to reshoot an intimate scene. Singh said the director used words like 'sex karo' and 'tang ragdo' which upset her to the extent that she decided to walk out of the film.
The director had countered Singh's allegations by saying she had cooked up the story and was unprofessional in her conduct, often reporting late for shoots.
