The actor made headlines for all the wrong reasons when he compared himself to feeling like a 'raped woman' after the gruelling training and stunts in his film, Sultan.

Salman Khan's unwise analogy of 'raped women' to explain his arduous stunts and training for Sultan has not gone down well with people across the board. The National Comission for Women demanded that the star apologise for his comments immediately. Even as the actor and his friends fend off the uprising, a powerful voice has been added to the fray.
Nirbhaya's mother remarked that the actor has insulted rape victims with his comments. Speaking to a national daily, she remarked, "It was wrong for a star like Salman to say this. He has made fun of rape victims."
"What does he know of rape? Salman must apologise for making fun of the victims," she added.
The Nirbhaya case, which occurred in 2012, was one of the most gruesome cases of rape and murder in India. It shook the country and brought an unprecedented amount of attention to the crime of rape and its consequences.
Director Anurag Kashyap called Salman's comments 'thoughtless and daft'. Speaking to a national news channel, the director said " It is very unfortunate that he made an analogy like that. It is very thoughtless of him, in a way daft of him. I am sure he will be regretting it and will apologise for it. If he really cares, he should apologise for it." The director did not spare the journalist doing the interview either. "But does the responsibility lie alone with him? The guy who was interviewing him? When the man gives an analogy like this, he laughs at it. He does not question him. In his mind, he is thinking I have got a headline. How irresponsible it is to make that into a headline,...I would have taken that out. It does not send a great signal. It empowers misogyny. Suddenly, people have got an issue to jump on,", he added.
Salman, for his part, had apologised immediately soon after he made the comments during the interview. His father, writer Salim Khan, has already taken to Twitter regretting the use of the analogy and apologised on the actor's behalf.
However, the actor has been strangely silent and has not yet provided an official apology for his comments.
