Actor Salman Khan has been receiving severe backslash for his rape remark during a recent media interaction. While recalling his gruelling wrestling scenes for his upcoming flick Sultan, he said that he felt like a raped woman as he could barely walk.
His statement was met with severe criticism on social media. The National Commission for Women (NCW) has also demanded an apology from the filmstar. The Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor has been mum after that though.
But now, his father Salim Khan, the ace scriptwriter, has apologized not only on behalf of the actor but also his family. However, he has defended his son’s intention. His tweeted, “Undoubtedly what Salman said is wrong, the simili, example and the context. The intention was not wrong.”
He followed this up with, “Nevertheless I apologise on behalf of his family his fans & his friends. Forgiveness is to pardon the unpardonable or it is no virtue at all.”
Salim, however, also took a dig at the media while linking International Yoga Day with the issue. His last tweet read, “To err is human to forgive divine. Today on Intl yoga day lets not run our shops on this mistake.”
