During recent promotional events for his upcoming film Te3n, directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, Amitabh Bachchan suggested that he would act in Yash Raj Films' next movie.
Bachchan said he had spoken to studio head Aditya Chopra and given his nod for their forthcoming project, helmed by Vijay Krishna Acharya. It has been almost 11 years since Bachchan was last seen in a Yash Raj production, when he appeared opposite son Abhishek in Bunty Aur Babli (2005).
Vijay Krishna Acharya has reportedly spoken to Hrithik Roshan to star in the film, which is supposed to be an action adventure, tentatively named Thug, but not the next instalment of the Dhoom franchise.
The script for the film has not yet been finalised. Amitabh Bachchan and Hrithik last acted together in Karan Johar’s Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... (2004).
Yash Raj Films has two films releasing this year, Sultan and Befikre. Their only film scheduled for 2017 so far is Meri Pyaari Bindu starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Parineeti Chopra.
