Is Priyanka Chopra not keen on desi films anymore?

Now an international star, the actress has reportedly declined Don 3; Katrina and Jacqueline are in race to replace her.

Priyanka Chopra has gone where no Indian actor or actress has gone before. A single with an international pop star followed by the lead role in an American TV series and, then, playing the antagonist in the Baywatch film. Clearly, she is now an international star, but the big question bothering fans back home is whether Chopra will start limiting her appearances in Hindi cinema.

The grapevine has it that the 'In My City' singer is now more keen on expanding her career in the West and has refused to be part of Don 3.

Citing sources close to the production team of the much delayed film, an online report said Chopra had rejected the film and producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani are unlikely to purse her anymore.

The buzz now is that Katrina Kaif or Jacqueline Fernandez will replace Chopra in Don 3. The Baywatch star was an integral part of the first two films, playing the pivotal character of Roma.

Chopra hasn't signed any new project after Baywatch yet. Her last Hindi film was the award-winning Bajirao Mastani, which released last year.

It would, however, be premature to assume that the 33-year-old actress is shutting the doors on the Hindi film industry. Chopra may not do Don 3, but the big question is, how soon will Don 3 get going? Back in March, Farhan Akhtar, who directed Don (2006) and Don 2 (2011), was quoted as saying that he did not expect the film to go on the floors any time soon, especially since the script was not ready.

The only thing certain about Don 3 so far is that Shah Rukh Khan will return in the lead role, but he is likely to begin shooting for his next film with Imtiaz Ali, after which he will shoot for Aanand L Rai's ambitious project in which he plays a dwarf. Farhan Akhtar too is busy with Rock On!! 2 which is said to be at the pre-production stage now.
