Sridevi to collect award for outstanding achievement at IIFA next week

The Chaal Baaz and English Vinglish actress will be presented with the award at the event in Madrid. 

Sridevi, the once and forever queen of hearts in Bollywood, will be receiving an award to confirm just that. The Mr. India actress will receive an award for outstanding achievement in Indian cinema at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) event in Madrid next week.

A statement to the press said the award will be presented to the actress at the NEXA IIFA events, to be held across four days from 23 June to 26 June, in the Spanish capital. 

Sridevi has been a regular at IIFA events. She performed on the IIFA stage three years ago, and her fans will be excited to see her receive acknowledgement for her contribution to Indian cinema. 

Starting at the age of five, Sridevi was a regular in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films. She made her debut in Hindi cinema with the film Solva Sawan (1978). Some of her biggest hits — Tohfa (1984), Mr. India (1987), Chandni (1989), Chaal Baaz (1989) and Lamhe (1991) — are seen as classics today. 

The IIFA event at Madrid will see over 100 celebrities making an appearance to celebrate the rising popularity of Indian cinema across the world.
