Andaz Apna Apna without Amar, Prem, Karishma or Raveena? Get ready, because the sequel to the 1994 cult classic will start filming by the end of the year.
The rights for Andaz Apna Apna have been bought by Phantom Films from Preeti Sinha, daughter of original producer Vinay Sinha. Sinha will be working together with the production company on the upcoming sequel.
None of the original cast is expected to return and Rajkumar Santoshi will not be directing the film. Instead, Phantom founders Vikas Bahl or Vikramadiyta Motwane are likely to step in as director.
Online reactions to the in-the-works sequel have already begun. Is the Hindi film industry taking a leaf out of Hollywood and beginning to retool our cult films?
A sequel of Andaz Apna Apna without Aamir, Salman, Karisma, Raveena and even Rajkumar Santoshi is like a biriyani without rice n chicken.
