Housefull 3 earns Rs 95 crore after 2nd weekend: Box-office report

Director duo Farhad-Sajid’s Housefull 3 earned a decent Rs80 crore in its first week in India. The film continued its decent run at the box office on the second weekend as well, earning Rs15 crore and taking its grand total to Rs95 crore, as per BoxOfficeIndia.com.

Starring Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan and Riteish Deshmukh in the lead, the film earned Rs52 crore in its first weekend. Despite being panned by critics and word-of-mouth publicity being not too positive, the film continued doing steady business on weekdays.

What worked in Housefull 3's favour was that last Friday’s release, Te3n, did not quite live up to expectations and earned a mere Rs11 crore on its first weekend. This gave Housefull 3 a chance to earn a substantial amount even after the weekend.

Last week's second release, Do Lazfon Ki Kahani, sank without a trace.

Despite earning nearly Rs100 crore, Housefull 3 can only be called an average film as it has just about broken even. The film was reportedly made at a huge cost of Rs85 crore.
