Sushant Singh Rajput just can't stay out of the news these days. The MS Dhoni actor was on Twitter on Monday in a live Q&A with fans, when one of them asked him if he would return as Byomkesh Bakshi on screen. The actor answered in the affirmative, sending fans into an overdrive.
Sushant had played the famed Bengali detective in Dibakar Banerjee's stylised Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! in 2015. The actor had received a lot of praise for his performance. Immediately after the film's release, Dibakar had confirmed reports about a sequel, saying "Well, this is true I am doing the sequel soon. Because I feel the first instalment of ‘Byomkesh..’ is successful in terms of idea, art and creativity to make a new genre of cinema making, but commercial result was not successful. So I want to make another film." However, the last two years saw a studied silence from the cast and crew of the film.
Sushant will also be seen in the MS Dhoni biopic, MS Dhoni - The Untold Story, directed by Neeraj Pandey, releasing on 30 September. The actor has also completed shooting for Dinesh Vijan's Raabta scheduled to release early next year.
Looks like Sushant will have a full calendar this year!
