The teaser of Ranbir Kapoor's next release, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, is slated to drop soon and his Jagga Jasoos has almost been wrapped up. The actor has now started work on his next film, friend and director Ayan Mukherji's Dragon.
Kapoor is about to start training for the film, in which he plays a superhero for the first time. Apparently his character's superpower would be related to using the power of fire, as the name suggests. But it would also entail tons of fight sequences and heroics, which would combine several forms of martial arts, and require Kapoor to be agile.
Kapoor and Ayan Mukherji are working closely with movement practitioner Ido Portal to get the superhero character right. It looks like Portal will train Kapoor and help Mukherji handle the choreography of the action sequences. Kapoor is also slated to transform himself physically and gain muscle for the first time.
Portal posted a picture with Mukherji and Kapoor on Instagram, and said, "Great meeting with Indian filmmaker Ayan Mukerji and superstar actor @ranbirkapoor discussing a big Bollywood production that I'm involved with. When passionate people are coming together in collaboration to fulfill a fantasy – expect truly FANTASTIC things coming on your screen in 2018."
Portal also works as MMA star Connor McGregor's movement coach, apart from travelling internationally to teach movement development, which includes everything from doing handstands to gymnastics and bodyweight strength.
While initially it was believed that Dragon would hit the screens by the end of 2017, Portal mentioned that the superhero film will release in 2018.
