Salim Khan accuses media of commercialising Salman’s rape comment

Salman Khan has been in the news lately for the wrong reasons after his ‘rape’ remark received widespread flak. The actor had said that he felt like a ‘raped woman’ after going through some rigorous wrestling sessions for his upcoming movie, Sultan. Despite the uproar, the Dabangg actor didn’t apologise. Later on, his father, Salim Khan, apologised on his behalf on Twitter.

The ace scriptwriter once again took to Twitter to speak on the issue. But this time, he is upset at how the controversy is still kept alive. He specifically targeted the media for carrying the news to the saturation point out of ‘commercial compulsion.’ 

In a series of tweets, he said, “Normally people apologise to get rid of the problem but, I meant it hoping that the problem would be over. But the commercial compulsion of the media wanted to carry it to the saturation point. I regret not knowing this. What is the meaning of getting an apology from a person under the guillotine, who knows rightly or wrongly that he has not committed a crime.” 

What dad Khan hasn't taken into account is that his son Salman, who made the comment, has chosen not to apologise or even explain when called on by National Women's Commission NWC). The star has also maintained a stoic silence over the issue during a few public appearances he made to promote his film Sultan after making the comments.
