Hindi film fraternity pays homage to Rajjat Barjatya


Salman Khan, Riteish Deshmukh tweet their condolences for the Barjatya family.

The Hindi film fraternity is shocked and saddened by the passing away of Rajjat Barjatya of Rajshri Productions yesterday. The cousin of well-known filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya, Rajjat was the Associate Producer on some of Rajshri's biggest hits, including Hum Aapke Hai Koun (1994), Hum Saath Saath Hain (1998), Vivah (2006) and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015). 

Condolences for the deceased are pouring in on social media from people from the fraternity and the audience. Salman Khan, who has been the poster boy of Rajshri Productions ever since he starred in Maine Pyar Kiya (1989), his first film with the banner, was among the first to tweet on hearing the news. The actor shares a special bond with the production house and it continues to be strong. He tweeted, “Rest in peace my brother Rajjat Barjatya.” 

 

Riteish Deshmukh, Neetu Chandra and Swwapnil Joshi also tweeted their sadness upon hearing the news. 

Rajjat Barjatya passed away after a prolonged battle with cancer yesterday evening. His condition had begun to deteriorate in the last three months. The funeral will take place today at Worli, Mumbai.
