No rift between me and Salman: Sanjay Dutt clears the air

Having spent his last birthday in prison, Sanjay Dutt threw open the doors of his home to the media on his 57th birthday and invited journalists for a chat.

The actor looked happy with his family around him and said his wild partying days were behind him. "Jail me chhote paimane pe birthday manaate the [We used to have a low-key birthday celebration in jail]," he said. "We made and shared cookies with other inmates. I spent three years in jail. Today I am a free man. I am just going to have dinner with close friends and family."

Speaking about friends, Dutt said, "Everyone [from the industry] called me up after my release. Salman [Khan] called up today."

The past few months had seen speculative reports claiming that all was not well between the stars. However, Dutt rubbished the rumours, saying, "Salman is my younger brother. We haven't been able to meet up, he is busy, I am also busy." He added, "I called Salman to wish him on the [Rajasthan] high court verdict."

Dutt is working with old friend Vidhu Vinod Chopra on a film titled Marco Bhau. The film is said to be an emotional drama of a father and his daughter. The actor confirmed that the movie is the only major project he has taken up since his release.

Dutt's wife, Manyata, gifted him a brand new Audi Q7. The actor did, however, say he missed his parents. "I miss my mother and father today," he said.

It seems the good times have finally returned for the man once known as Sanju Baba.
