Relationships change with time. So even though one may be indebted to a filmmaker or a production house for kick-starting their career, it's not written in stone that an actor is bound for life with either of them.
Parineeti Chopra, who started her career first working in Yash Raj Films' marketing department before becoming the gen-next poster girl of the production house, is reportedly looking at other avenues to provide the much necessary fillip to her career.
According to a tabloid report, Chopra is likely to pick a Sajid Nadiadwala film over YRF project.
Chopra had shot an item number 'Jaaneman Aah', for Nadiadwala's upcoming release Dishoom. She is said to have developed a good rapport with the producer, who is said to have offered her a new script. The actress is said to have a couple of offers on the table, but she's keen to hear Nadiadwala's script first. What may be tempting for Chopra is that a Nadiadwala film usually tends to feature a big star.
Chopra had begun her career working in Yash Raj Films' promotional and PR team. After an impressive audition, she bagged a supporting role in Maneesh Sharma's Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl. Chopra was appreciated for her performance and was picked by YRF to play the lead in Habib Faisal directed Ishaqzaade (2012), where she was paired alongside Boney Kapoor's son Arjun Kapoor. Ishaqzaade was a commercial success and so Chopra signed a three-film deal with YRF. Priyanka Chopra’s cousin would then star in three more YRF films, Shuddh Desi Romance (2013), Daawat-eIshq (2014) and Kill Dill (2014). Unfortunately, none of these films were big hits. In fact, the last two bombed at the box-office.
Chopra’s next Meri Pyaari Bindu, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, is also a YRF production that will release next year.
Well, it’s too early to suggest what fate awaits Mairi Pyaari Bindu, but perhaps given that most of her YRF films didn’t work, Chopra would be wise enough to look at alternate avenues.
Chopra has now reportedly rekindled her romance with another Yash Raj favourite Maneesh Sharma, but he too may struggle to bag another YRF project after the failure of Fan (2016). We wonder whether Sharma is helping Parineeti decide her next move?
